“The time has come to inquire seriously what will happen when our forests are gone, when the coal, the iron, the oil, and the gas are exhausted.” So began President Teddy Roosevelt’s crusade to protect and preserve America’s natural landscape, establishing 230 million acres as public land for conservation. Roosevelt’s parks legacy, which continues over 100 years later, is examined by Roosevelt historian and portrayer Clay Jenkinson as he, in full Roosevelt regalia and demeanor, delivers an insightful, educational and very entertaining evening.
